Blog Post: How's Your "Fit-Working" Going?

posted Thursday, July 30, 2009 11:01 PM

Let "fit-working" become your new (and tremendously successful) networking gig. Get and stay fit while making some great connections for your business and personal life all at the same time.

In my business, I see it almost everyday. People who see each other several times a week either at the gym, at exercise classes -- or, in my case, at my Riverside Zumba Fitness classes, small group personal training or boot camps -- and we connect before and after our fitness programs. Slowly but surely, we continue to find ways to support each other.

Below are just a few of the connections that have taken place in just the past 2 1/2 weeks with our fitness groups. These are just the "business" aspects -- the support, enthusiasm and motivation we experience is a whole other story:

  • We've been introduced to the amazing Riverside HeartLink Program (directed by Tracey Dempsey; contact: jointheheartlinkmeeting@gmail.com)
  • We've learned about Pat Longwell's fabulous cell-phone purse holder. I've never seen anything like it and I love it! It's a simple yet necessary accessory! Contact Pat at simplyscarves@earthlink.net
  • One of the best massage therapists in Riverside attends our Zumba classes -- Rosa Velasquez -- you can schedule an appointment with her at Palms Day Spa (www.palmsdayspa.com
  • Zumba Groupies are given the chance to experience complimentary yoga sessions and learn a new way to de-stress and relax (it's been a first-time yoga experience for many)
  • A local business focused on health, wellness and fitness coaching is being expanded by Lisa Reynaldo (www.lisareynaldo.com)
  • Riverside Zumba and Inland Empire Zumba have formed a great partnership and are bringing powerful, postive energy to the community while focusing on true fitness fun

And these are just a few things!!! So bottom line, let "fit-working" become a part of your life as you explore career opportunities, business growth options and get fit while you do it. You'll be amazed at the results you'll see -- on all sorts of levels!
