Profile: Forest Home

Our mission is really quite simple:
"To provide a place, away from the distractions of the world, where you can hear the Word of God and encounter Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit."

Forest Home operates three distinct Christian camp sites in Southern California: MILL CREEK CANYON, THE WOODLANDS and OJAI VALLEY. Each site is a year-round, interdenominational, non-profit ministry serving 144 programs to 40 denominations and over 63,000 men, women and children annually.  Mill Creek Canyon and the Woodlands are only 90 minutes from L.A., this scenic and historical 500 acre center rests a mile high in a valley of two 10,000 foot mountain peaks and is recognized as being a place where God moves.  Ojai Valley is located between Venture Beach and Ojai serving up to 250 guests.

65 Years of His-story Forest Home has a rich and moving history. It is best said that our history is HIS-Story. Forest Home has become a movement of God that has seen the winds of revival blow throughout Southern California and into the farthest reaches of the world.  For 65 years we have watched Him move in the lives of countless millions as each guest has been faced with life changing-decisions. Our chapel is filled with books - literally thousands of pages from history where guests write out their decision, prayers, and cries to God.

"Forest Home is operated for one purpose - to conduct conferences for all ages where Christ will be held up and magnified. We desire that each person attending will be introduced to Christ as Savior and will commit his life to Him as Lord.

"We are a non-profit corporation set up to handle the Lord's money as He gives it to us. We never wish to be known as a money-raising institution. We believe we ought to invest the sums as God gives them to us, being careful not to spend beyond what is in our hand.

"Because the putting on of conferences is our purpose, everything we do must be weighed and measured by the needs of the conferences and their leaders. Hence we must work together in order to have plans that will help the conferences and make them more effective...

Statement of Faith

    * Belief in the plenary inspiration of the Old and New Testaments, and holding them to be the very Word of God.
    * Belief in the Deity of the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
    * Belief in the Deity and virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, His substitutionary atonement for sin, His bodily resurrection, and His personal, visible return to earth to reign in righteousness and glory.
    * Belief in the person of the Holy Spirit and His work of conviction, regeneration and sanctification, and who indwells every believer.
    * Belief in the necessity of the New Birth, in Salvation by Faith in Jesus Christ alone, and the importance of a life committed to the Will of God, in Christ.
