OC President's Council

	The Orange County Presidents Council (OCPC) is a result of the changing dynamics within the ethnic business community. As organizations have achieved success, they have started to recognize the value of reaching beyond their own cultures. An attitude is emerging that rather than focusing on differences, they should capitalize on similarities and common interests while preserving the value of diversity. This has led to a movement among the leading Orange County ethnic chambers to promote communication, collaboration and cooperation among the various business groups in order to provide better member services, more effective use of community resources and expanded regional growth.
	The members of OCPC maintain their unique qualities and appeal to their individual constituencies while partnering with other groups to further mutual economic expansion. OCPC is a partnership with over 20 organizations including, Asian Business Association of OC, National Latina Business Women Association – OC, Black Chamber of Commerce of OC, Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of OC, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of OC, Korean Chamber of Commerce of OC, National Hispanic Business Women Association of OC, National Latina Business Women Association of OC, Taiwanese World Congress, and Vietnamese American Chamber of Commerce of OC.
	In December 2002, the members of OCPC signed a Memorandum of Understanding outlining the basis for their partnership and confirming the commitment of the participating organizations’ leaders to work together to increase the economic impact for its members and the general small business community in Orange County. Shortly thereafter, OCPC received approval for incorporation from the California Secretary of State. Since that time OCPC has been involved in a steadily growing number of collaborative efforts which have produced tangible results.
