About The Chamber

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC), founded in 1939, is a membership organization of approximately 1000 businesses. Its mission is to create a strong local economy by being the voice of business before government, providing networking opportunities to its members, promoting the community and taking political action.  Through these actions, we help business members to grow and promote collaboration; thus, assuring prosperity for the Torrance area.  As one of the leading accredited Chambers of Commerce in the nation, the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce offers a wide variety of innovative programs designed to strengthen businesses and ensure economic growth in the South Bay. With over 45 annual programs, we focus on 'Business First'!

The TACC Board is representative of local businesses large, small and non profit. Large Companies like Honda, Toyota and Exxon Mobil, Los Angeles BioMedical Research Institute, Hilton, Marriott, Costco and Comerica Bank are represented. Torrance Memorial Medical Center, Little Company of Mary form a large part of our health care industry representation.

Committed to being a valuable resource to its members, the Chamber offers networking events, vital business education and training, and opportunities for visible community involvement. The Chamber also maintains a strong legislative advocacy program, voicing the needs ofits membership and helping to establish a favorable business climate on local, state, and federal levels. TACC is one of the top three Chambers, given the number of annual events. From traditional breakfast meetings, Open Houses, Ribbon Cuttings and professional group meetings to a vast array of diversity events, TACC does it all.  The Chamber's Black History Celebration ranks as one of the largest in the County, and, the chamber is one of the first to take the lead on an annual Latino Reception, adding to its Chinese Dragon Circle and Japanese Reception. The Chamber also has a plethora of specially focused groups like IBC (The International Business Committee), SBIEF (South Bay Industrial Executives Forum) and PROFS (Professional Roundtable of Financial Services) promoting members interests and causes.

The Chamber  Foundation actively promotes collaboration between local businesses and the Torrance Unified School District. All 31 Schools in the Torrance District are paired up with business partners, under the Adopt A School program. Business for Day and the newly formed Mentor program provides a wide range of opportunities for local businesses and employees to get involved.

Leadership Torrance and  the Grassroots Public Service Academy also give interested participants a glimpse into local and state government. These programs are designed to help participants better understand the workings of all levels of government.
