Top industry leaders and entertainment corporations recognize the value of a diverse workforce and social responsibility. They, along with leading national foundations and the State of California, have provided initial funding for Workplace Hollywood.
Workplace Hollywood’s lead funding has been provided by Entertainment Industry Foundation, the principals of DreamWorks SKG, State of California, Department of Community Services and Development and the James Irvine and Ford FoundationsSubsequently all of the studios, Disney, Fox, Sony Pictures, NBC Universal, Paramount and Warner Bros. have made significant contributions to support this initiative.
Workplace Hollywood is looking to expand its training and job placement programs and increase capacity of its outreach and recruitment efforts. Workplace Hollywood has funded 32 non-profit organizations over the past five years to identify and prepare top quality workers for a variety of jobs in the entertainment industry. Early success in the area job placement has quickly established Workplace Hollywood as a key point of entry to the entertainment industry for these diverse candidates and provides a number of services beyond initial placements including networking opportunities, professional development, developing career pathways and job coaching.
