Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will provide Basis administration support for the SAP Basis Solution Support organization within the Center for Continuous Improvement (CCI). The position will focus on supporting the SAP Process Integration (PI) system which supports enterprise application integration and participating in the analysis and design activities for SAP PI Solutions. Typical responsibilities include: assuming responsibility for the completion of all technical system deliverables; collaborating with IT consulting support and Business Units to determine strategy and plan for system implementations and upgrades; assisting with the development of practices and procedures to manage technologies based on "best practice" standards; working with leads in deploying transport strategy for SAP PI system solutions; supporting security policies and maintaining a secure environment; mentoring and implementing knowledge transfer plans to first level Basis Administrators; developing strategy and system plans for implementation and upgrades; performing BASIS analysis, design and configuration activities within agreed time and costs boundaries for supporting external programs / CCI projects and periodic maintenance releases; performing installation and upgrades of SAP systems, underlying DB2 systems and closely working with UNIX administrators for day to day operations; conducting performance tuning to optimize application performance; assisting in the configuration and implementation of the SAP system; performing software upgrades and installations, support testing, and ensure consistency of the application; performing transports and client copies upon request; executing daily operational activities related to the SAP environment: monitoring, job scheduling, patch management, system performance tuning, capacity planning, backup and recovery, and level 2 /3 support of problem determination/resolution; and performing additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
Must have 9 or more years' experience in performing systems analysis, systems requirements, and product or technology evaluation.

Core Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in SAP Basis administration on one or more of the following SAP systems with a focus on SAP J2EE administration (XI/PI, Portal, SLD, NWDI, Solution Manager).
- Demonstrated knowledge of SAP PI 7.0 or higher, SAP Portal EP 7.0 or higher and current J2EE releases.
- Demonstrated experience with JAVA technologies, understanding of JAVA development, troubleshooting and techniques.
- Demonstrated experience with in SAP Basis administration on AIX/UNIX platforms.
- Demonstrated experience with the testing and implementation of backup/recovery, disaster recovery and failover of SAP systems.
- Demonstrated experience with the configuration and implementation of SAP for large ERP implementations.
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to clients business needs.

Preferences:
SAP certifications in SAP PI Basis Administration and/or SAP PI development. SAP Basis administration experience with NW2004S. Knowledge of high availability of SAP applications on AIX with HACMP or HACMP/XD
