Jobing Description
The Family Support Counselor I is responsible for providing intensive case management to low-income families, in order to increase their level of self-sufficiency. In addition, will teach and/or coordinate classes in parenting skills, financial literacy, job-related "soft" skills and other related subjects.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Intensive Case Management Conduct intake and assessments of families to determine their needs Link with community resources Develop and implement individualized service plan, based on client goals Meet regularly with families to provide support and facilitate meeting of goals Coordinate/conduct adult and child programs to facilitate self-sufficiency 2. Documentation Maintain case files and notes Maintain all other required paperwork 3. Community Maintain high profile in the community Maintain/provide current resource referrals within the community Develop/maintain effective working relations with all individuals and agencies impacting program within the community Assist Program Supervisor with developing and implementing community outreach programs Skills / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services/Behavioral Sciences from an accredited university 1-3 years of successful experience working with families, children and/or parents, and community outreach skills preferred Bilingual English/Spanish is Required Valid CA Driver's License, Automobile Insurance & Reliable Transportation Ability to use diagnostic skills to make assessments Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment Bilingual English/Spanish Fluent is required Tuesday - Saturday work schedule Important Notes
