Career Education Grant Staff Aide Performance Responsibilities Under the general supervision of the Dean of Career Education, to perform general administrative work at a paraprofessional level in support of grants and grant activities; and to perform other related duties as assigned. The District reserves the right to extend, modify or eliminate this position depending on funding. The normal duty hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Minimum Qualifications:
Faculty/Educational Administrators complete the Equivalency Application only if you do not meet the minimum qualifications for the position you are applying to, and you wish to be considered. Knowledge of: 1. Modern office practices, procedures and equipment, including use of computers for advanced word processing, spreadsheet and other financial software, database applications, presentation, page layout, Web navigation and Web research. 2. Principles of business letter and report writing including the proper use of English, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. 3. Business phone etiquette. 4. Business math and budgeting procedures. 5. Principles of budget and fiscal record keeping. 6. Principles of office administration. Ability to: 7. Perform a variety of complex administrative and clerical duties, exercising discretion and judgment. 8. Plan and organize work to meet deadlines and complete assignments using independent judgment and action. 9. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and understand and follow oral and written directions. 10. Communicate effectively and with a variety of individuals and groups; establish effective relationships wit those contacted in the course of work and participate as a successful team member. 11. Read, understand, analyze, and apply complex written materials. 12. Operate a computer and utilize all assigned business software applications. 13. Perform basic business math for fiscal recordkeeping and budgeting. 14. Work effectively with a variety of personalities in a fast-paced deadline driven office. Education and Experience: 15. Completion of at least one year of college level course work in related subject areas. 16. At least three years progressively responsible administrative experience. 17.
