Responsibilities & Duties


·        Maintain the Internal Audit methodology, policies and procedures under the direction of the Internal Audit Director/Manager; lead and execute the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program; assist with staff training and development programs; maintain Internal Audit automation tools; assist with internal and external communication; information, and reporting.

·        Provide input to department’s continuous improvement initiatives and execute various projects related to its implementation.

·        Assists with the development and maintenance of the annual audit planning process and department budgets

·        Benchmark with other relevant professional and industry groups.

·        Proactively keeps team informed of emerging trends, developments, and practices affecting the profession of internal audit.

·        Assess personnel and personal development needs (i.e., training and career development) in conjunction with department management

·        Assist with coaching, training, and developing audit staff




Job Qualifications/Requirements

·        Required: Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration or other relevant field

·        Required: 6 years of internal audit experience in regional and/or large commercial banking

·        Required: 2 or more years of supervisory experience, direct or indirect

·        Required: Professional certification, audit-related designation (e.g. CIA, CISA, CPA, CAMS, CRCM)

·        Required: Working knowledge of conducting quality assurance reviews in audit, creating/developing audit methodology, training audit methodology and board reporting

·        Required: A self-motivated, results-oriented professional with experience and success working in a collaborate environment

·        Required: Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills in order to work with all levels of management; must be effective at communicating issues through written reports, verbal discussions and presentations

·        Required: Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations by collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions

·        Required: Exceptional organizational and time management skills

·        Required: Some travel may be required
