Job Description

Responsibilities & Duties•Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software in order to deliver required desktop service levels.•Assess the need for and implement performance upgrades to PC boxes, including the installation of CPUs, I/O and NIC cards, hard disks, ribbon cables, hard drives, RAM, memory chips, CD-ROMs, and so on.•Collaborate with LAN support analyst/network administrators to ensure efficient operation of the company’s desktop computing environment.•Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding desktop problems.•Answer to and perform moves, adds, and changes (MAC) requests as they are submitted by line managers.•Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring desktop operations.•Maintain and configure Desktop management system.•Conduct research on desktop products in support of procurement and development efforts. Evaluate and recommend products for purchase.•Provide Advise to IT Desktop Manager.•Research Desktop products and evaluate.•Resolve potential communication issue and/or miscommunication behalf of junior Desktop members.Job Qualifications/Requirements•Required: Able to troubleshoot PC problem & Basic network issue•Required: Able to create basic technical document•Required: Able to assist IT Desktop Manager to make critical decisions•Required: Transfer working knowledge to junior desktop members•Required: Able to be a mentor for junior Desktop members•Required: Maintain & oversee Desktop management system•Preferred: Research new technology to benefit Desktop operation Computer/Systems Knowledge RequirementsMicrosoft Outlook: AdvancedMicrosoft Word: AdvancedMicrosoft Excel: AdvancedMicrosoft PowerPoint: IntermediateMicrosoft Access: BasicNetwork & Topology: BasicPC Hardware & Configuration: AdvancedPC Troubleshooting: AdvancedWindows OS Troubleshooting: Advanced
