Job SummaryThe role of the Technical Analyst is to serve as the primary liaison between the IT support team and the represented business unit in coordinating activities related to; application problem solving, technical and process requirements gathering, standard support requests and business system implementations and upgrades. The role is a technical position reporting to the IT Applications Manager. Responsibilities & Duties•Documents and maintains the business unit requirements for technical support of department applications.•Assist in defining technology support scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with the business unit.•Serves as the primary point of contact between the business unit and IT for, problem solving, application support changes, upgrades and new integrations.•Encourages collaboration between the business unit and the Information Technology department to support the Bank’s strategic and regulatory requirements. •Effectively communicates department initiative expectations to IT support teams.•Set and continually manage business unit expectations of IT process and protocols to the supporting business units on initiatives.•Act as subject matter expert for the business unit’s IT application implementations and support.•Track and report business units’ initiatives with appropriate stakeholders.•Analyze application and process problem areas within the business unit and effectively communicate problem areas to IT to facilitate inter department solutions. •Assist the business unit in applying best practices to implementation initiatives.•Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the input on cross functional requirements.•Initiate vendor demonstrations for new and revised business applications.•Proactively manage changes in business unit requirements and facilitate IT contingency plans.•Build, develop, and grow business relationship between the business unit and IT.Comply with the Bank’s security program, including but not limited to:•Review and comply with the End-User Computing Agreement•Acquire good knowledge on functions and usage of computer systems as related to the assigned job functions.•Be current and knowledgeable in industry’s trend in safeguarding the Bank against confidential data leak, identity theft, fraudulent activities, and computer security threats.•Reports suspicious activities to manager, Chief Risk Officer or Information Security Officer.Knowledge Required•Overall understanding and experience in the support of BSA/AML software with specific knowledge of Banker’s Toolbox (Abrigo) applications.•Substantial understanding and experience with OFAC Scanning software and processes•Comprehensive understanding of BSA processes including SAR, KYC, and Due diligence procedures.•Overall understanding of IT application support functions of third-party and in-house developed application processes. Skills Required•Communication Skills:oExcellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.oAbility to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or customer complaints. oAbility to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, employees, regulators, or board members.•Reasoning Skills:oExcellent analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. oAbility to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. •Computer Skills:oAccurate typing/keyboarding skills; basic computer skills, including the use of word processing, spreadsheet software applications, and e-mail.Job Qualifications/Requirements•Required: BSA/ AML Process Knowledge•Required: Experience in dealing with business unit end-users in an IT support role.•Required: Team Leadership Experience•Required: Experience in data entry, research and administrative work•Required: Excellent organizational skills.•Required: Intermediate business, systems, analytical, technical, verbal and written communication skills required.•Preferred: Experience identifying, developing and executing implementation tasks for large scale projects•Preferred: Experience in Fiserv and FIS systemsMinimum Education Level: University degree or college diploma or equivalent work experiencePreferred Major: MIS Management with understanding of banking and financial systemsOther Certification: NoIs this Certification required?
