Batching Supervisor

 Job Summary Details

  • Supervises batching department employees through communicating job expectations and standards; evaluating and appraising execution and results
  • Follows and monitors GMP, HACCP, IIPP, Food Safety and SOP guidelines.
  • Completes and maintains production logs and other paperwork as needed for proper documentation; including ensuring all HACCP verification's are reviewed and signed.
  • Operates equipment startup and shutdown- sets up, adjusts, and maintains equipment with responsibility for overall results of production and quality.
  • Responsible for reporting yields, productivity, efficiencies, and monitoring loss.
  • Monitors process steps and observes critical control points and equipment.
  • Supervises the process of kitting/batching, blending, and pasteurization of all finished product.
  • Monitors material flow and instruments to include temperature, pressure gauges indicators and meters.
  • Communicates plant issues and operations with management and works to resolve them.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, budgetary, and personnel requirements; implementing change.
  • Performs CIP and sanitation operations.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery.
  • Works with QA department to test quality of product and ensures product is within quality and customer qualifications.
  • Optimizes plant efficiency and coordinates plant needs accordingly.
  • Monitors total plant operations and control of automated systems.
  • Hands on improvement and maintenance of processing equipment.
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment to detect malfunction and trouble shoot.
  • Works with management to discuss, diagnose problems and repair machinery.
  • Develops and maintains positive and professional relationships with all visitors, employees, and management
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Participate in interviews with hiring managers.
  • Trains, coaches and reviews performance of employees.   Works with HR for employee discipline issues, terminations and recruitment.
  • Participates in safety team activities.  Monitors and enforces safety requirements.
  • Conducts weekly safety talk trainings, daily safety/quality/production meetings, and hourly safety walks.
  • Builds a positive work environment.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Work Experience/KSA’s

• Required:

  o 3-5 years  experience in the field

• Understanding of production processes and controls
