The position(s) described here are for Option Care (previously known as Walgreens Infusion Services), a former subsidiary of Walgreen Co. (Walgreens).  Option Care became a new independent, privately-held company on 4/7/2015 following the acquisition of a majority interest in the company by Madison Dearborn Partners, a leading private equity firm based in Chicago. Walgreens will retain a significant minority interest in the new company and will have representatives on the company’s board of directors. As such, Walgreens will continue to have a role in ensuring the future success of the new company.

 

Job Duties Include:  The LPN/LVN Nursing Clinical Coordinator is a qualified, licensed professional who is responsible to assist the Nurse Manager and General Manager in the compliance of patients with prescribed drug therapies in accordance with the Walgreens policies, Federal, State, professional standards of practice and accrediting body requirements. Supports daily activities with regards to effective agency operations and communications. Supports the implementation of the Plan of Care. Knowledgeable of documentation and billing requirements for home health/ infusion care goods and services. Maintains clinical competency by providing necessary patient care at least 30% of the time. Assists in the implementation and evaluation of continuing education, orientation and clinical educational programs.

Assists with the coordination of all agency activities related to nursing including direct and indirect patient services. Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information. Facilitates and attends required in-services. Presents and/or attends all Walgreens required in-services. Obtains all educational requirements necessary to maintain professional license and certifications. Participates as a member of the Professional Advisory Committee, Infection Control and process improvement team activities, including chart audits.  Participates in the nursing department on-call responsibilities for appropriate patient visits as required.  

Minimum Requirements:

  • LPN or LVN with a license in the current state of practice and at least 2 years of home health care experience providing specialty nursing care, such as infusion therapy, maternal-child health, disease state management pediatric nursing, etc.
  • Required licensure in Nursing as granted by current state of practice. 
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Access to a reliable means of transportation which will enable the incumbents to make home visits to treat/attend to their patients. If such means of transportation would include a personal vehicle, a valid driver’s license and a proof of insurance would be required.
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships within a team.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Basic email skills, internet explorer (sending, receiving, and organizing communications).
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (for example:  opening a document, cutting, pasting and aligning text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and column width, sorting, inserting bullets, pictures and dates, using find and replace, undo, spell check, track changes, review pane and/or print functions).
  • Willing to travel at least 50% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Required Satisfactory completion of Infusion Therapy course work.
  • At least 1 year of previous infusion experience.
  • At least 2 years of previous Home Health Care experience.
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (for example:  opening a document, cutting, pasting and aligning text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and column width, sorting, inserting bullets, pictures and dates, using find and replace, undo, spell check, track changes, review pane and/or print functions).
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: opening a workbook, inserting a row, selecting font style and size, formatting cells as currency, using copy, paste and save functions, aligning text, selecting cells, renaming a worksheet, inserting a column, selecting a chart style, inserting a worksheet, setting margins, selecting page orientation, using spell check and/or printing worksheets).
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: inserting, rearranging, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, increasing list level, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting a table or a note, moving objects, printing outline view and/or running a slide show).


Required Skills

Skilled LVN Coordinator with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.  Must be IV Certified with valid CA LVN Nursing License, CPR, CA Drivers License, and Auto Insurance.  Some Ambulatory Treatment Site and home health patient visits required.  Mulst be detail oriented with excellent documentation skills.

 



Required Experience

Previous experience in a Home Health Setting is required.  IV Certified is also a must.
